Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 8a) within Critical Care to join the Therapies Directorate at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post holder will facilitate clinical development and extend the scope of current practice to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
* Generate new research opportunities and implement up-to-date evidence-based practice.
* Enhance the on-going training and education framework for a large therapy team to support learning for static and rotational staff and students.
* Represent the organisation at national networking level to influence service development and market the service to key stakeholders.
* Contribute to respiratory and rehabilitation skills within a multidisciplinary Critical Care team.
* Work under supervision with Principal Therapists; participate in peer supervision; and engage in appraisal and internal/external training.
* May require some out-of-hours working.
Unit context
Critical Care Unit is a regional trauma centre with 36 beds (trauma, surgical, medical, neurosurgical, spinal cord injury). It is supported by a multidisciplinary therapy team including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and therapy technicians.
