Deputy Head of Operations - Event Traffic and Parking

Location: Watford, Herts

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Company Overview

CSP stands for the Combined Services Provider Ltd. CSP represents our values Caring Safe Professional. We specialise in providing services to venues and static sites including car parking, internal and external traffic management, HVM, security, stewarding, cash and audit and consultancy services. Our core areas of expertise are car parking/traffic management, HVM and security/stewarding.

We began our first contract in 1994 and have grown to provide services to UK sporting and entertainment events and venues. We understand the complexities of major events and greenfield site operations, including irregular event calendars, varied staffing levels and continual innovation.

With around 100 permanent employees and a database of 1,500-2,000 casual staff, we adapt to varied demands at each venue to deliver high quality service, whether for 100,000 guests or 100 visitors.


Purpose of the Role

The Deputy Head of Operations will be accountable for managing and mentoring CSP's Operations team; developing the appropriate service provision; and ensuring an exemplary operational service is delivered within budget to all clients. The role includes providing excellent line management to all reports, proactive mentoring, coaching, development, team succession planning, and continuous improvement of customer experience. The Deputy Head will also develop and nurture strong professional relationships with clients and operational contacts to ensure CSP's expectations are met at all times.

Requirements: a full UK driving licence.

Candidate Profile

* Educated to Degree level
* Extensive previous experience in project management and planning
* Proven experience in managing large scale events or transport operations
* Senior level record of success in leadership, development and management of high‑performing teams
* Effective communicator at all levels


Qualities

* A passion for service excellence, underpinned by a strong customer mindset
* Strong financial acumen, commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple budgets
* Track record in liaising with clients and external agencies, building and maintaining strong relationships and stakeholders
* Effective planner with confident decision‑making ability
* Ability to evaluate conflicting priorities and drive forward solutions to multiple challenges
