Following a period of significant transformation and increased regulatory scrutiny, we are strengthening our global quality function to ensure robust oversight, consistent standards, and future‑ready manufacturing capability across all sites.
This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced quality professional who can operate at pace, drive cultural uplift, and build a global quality platform from the ground up.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Global Quality Manufacturing Director to lead operational quality across our international manufacturing footprint. This is a newly created role on the Global Supply Chain Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly into executive leadership.
This role is central to our next phase of transformation: establishing unified global standards, elevating quality governance, and ensuring compliance across all markets, including those where products require clinician prescription.
You will provide leadership, strategy, and operational direction across owned and partner manufacturing sites, shaping the future of quality for a growing global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Global Quality Strategy & Governance
Develop and implement a global operational quality strategy across all manufacturing sites.
Build standardised quality systems, frameworks and governance processes from the ground up.
Ensure global consistency while recognising necessary local adaptations.Operational Quality Leadership
Lead quality oversight across owned factories, ensuring GMP‑aligned operations and inspection‑readiness.
Oversee deviation management, CAPA effectiveness, complaint investigations and site quality performance metrics.
Provide hands‑on support during audits, including high‑stakes regulatory engagements.Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Technical, Regulatory and Leadership teams to align quality with operational objectives.
Act as the global escalation point for material quality risks, supplier quality issues and manufacturing concerns.Quality Culture & Continuous Improvement
Foster a proactive, safety‑focused, quality‑first culture across all global sites.
Introduce consistent global training, capability building and knowledge‑sharing programmes.
Establish and drive continuous improvement, root‑cause analysis and risk‑based decision‑making.Building the Future Organisation
Define what a global quality organisation looks like for the next 5 years - including structure, capabilities, and global standards.
Lead with a "ground zero" mindset: initially hands‑on, while shaping long‑term organisational design.
Partner with senior leaders to support ongoing global transformation, including centralisation and ERP modernisation programmes.
What We're Looking For
Significant experience in operational quality leadership across multiple international manufacturing sites.
Strong pharma / GMP background, ideally within regulated, prescription, healthcare or controlled product environments.
Demonstrated ability to build or transform quality organisations, systems and standards.
Comfortable working in a complex, evolving, fast‑paced global business.
Skilled communicator with high emotional intelligence - able to influence across cultures and seniorities.
Hands‑on pragmatism combined with strategic vision.
Willingness to travel internationally.Preferred Experience
Quality leadership in pharma, FMCG health, medical products or related environments.
Experience working with international manufacturing operations.
Familiarity with global regulatory expectations (FDA, MHRA, EMA, etc.).
