Salary: £33,000 - £41,000 + Company Car
Do you have experience delivering training to professional drivers in high-risk logistic environments? Are you a proactive training professional with deep experience in developing qualified HGV drivers? Our client is looking for a HGV Regional Training Lead to ensure best practices and driver compliance across their South-West & South Wales operations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a regional, hands-on environment, working closely with operational transport teams to deliver classroom, practical, and on-the-road training. You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing safety culture and operational standards of the HGV driving team.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Deliver practical and classroom-based transport training across multiple locations, covering standards, compliance, safety, customer service, and hazardous goods handling.
2. Design and adapt training materials to reflect local risks and operational changes.
3. Support and assess new starters, agency drivers, apprentices, and seasonal drivers.
4. Deliver tailored modules including CPC driver training, ADR awareness, manual handling, WTD, and load security.
5. Monitor training impact through safety audits, KPIs, data, and feedback.
6. Collaborate with local teams to reinforce driver accountability and safety practices.
7. Respond to audit outcomes and incident trends with targeted training sessions.
About You
1. Proven experience in delivering training in both classroom and practical environments.
2. Skilled in designing effective and measurable training materials.
3. Experience with driver and compliance training (e.g., Logistics UK, RoSPA, SAFED, CPC).
4. Knowledge of high-risk operations (fuel, chemicals, armed forces, ADR certification is a plus).
5. Current HGV Category C+E licence.
6. CPC qualified with strong understanding of driver compliance, WTD, and safe driving.
7. Excellent communication and coaching skills.
8. Self-motivated with ability to manage regional schedule.
9. Experience in training needs analysis.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office and LMS tools like Workday.
