Olivia is our friendly virtual assistant, available to support you navigate through the application process 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She can answer common questions, guide candidates through application steps, arrange interviews, and provide timely updates to help make the application process smoother and easier to navigate. Olivia cannot make hiring decisions (those are made by human recruiters) but helps ensure your recruitment journey stays smooth and accessible.
Before we can employ you, we are required to verify your eligibility to work in the UK & Ireland. Acceptable documents to evidence your right to work can be found here. You’ll need to provide original documents such as a valid passport or a valid UK/Ireland visa (with a college letter listing term dates, where applicable). Only original documents will be accepted.

The interview is a vital part of our hiring process to understand values and attitudes and to see how you might fit into the team. We may ask for examples of times you’ve worked as part of a team and how you contributed. We hire for qualities and potential, rather than solely for qualifications.

Benefits package includes: holiday pay, service awards, meal allowance, employee discounts from top brands, and more. Premium shifts may offer additional pay for overnight hours (midnight to 5am). All team members earn above the national minimum wage. Other benefits include holiday and sick pay and discounts at over 1,600 retailers.

Sustainability and Pay
McDonald’s pursues sustainability plans and a net-zero restaurant initiative. Pay frequency varies by franchise or company-owned restaurant, typically every 2 or 4 weeks for hourly staff, and monthly for salaried employees. Shifts vary by location, with many restaurants open 24 hours in some locations. Uniforms are provided. McDonald’s promotes its employees and supports internal progression. Minimum age to work is determined by location.
