We’re looking for experienced Boiler Engineers to provide competent and cost-effective maintenance, engineering support, service, advice, solutions, and techniques to maximize boiler performance safely and in compliance with legal standards.
As a Boiler Engineer, you will be responsible for:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain standards to increase boiler plant and equipment reliability and safe operation.
2. Complete failure analysis of plant and equipment as per plant standards, identify probable root causes, and ensure close-out.
3. Inspect the internal condition of the boiler during shutdown concerning the AIA to obtain a COC after modifications and repairs.
4. Manage boiler inspection reports and repair data books.
5. Assist the Maintenance Manager with long-term maintenance planning, budgeting, Capex, and project work execution.
6. Provide weekly feedback to the Maintenance Manager on boiler performance, unresolved engineering problems, monthly project reports, investigations undertaken, and the status.
7. Support ISO9000 (Quality Management System), ISO14001 (Environmental Management Standards), ISO50001 (Energy Management System), and OHSAS18000 (Health and Safety Management System) for engineering in the section. Educate the team on requirements and monitor adherence to standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
8. Participate in developing safe work procedures for the section, perform critical task analysis, and guide and monitor the team on correct isolation and lockout procedures during maintenance.
What are we looking for?
1. At least 5 years of experience with boilers and turbines.
2. Experience managing large projects and contracts, e.g., LTSA (Long Term Service Agreement) contracts on boilers, is advantageous.
3. Experience with Chemical Recovery Furnaces and composite tube materials is advantageous.
4. Experience in the pulp and paper industry is advantageous.
5. NQF level 7 Engineering Qualification (BSc / BEng / BTech in Mechanical Engineering).
6. GCC (Factories) or permission to write is advantageous.
7. Management Development Programme (MDP) or relevant management qualification is advantageous.
