Are you a passionate and driven engineering professional with a flair for solving complex problems in industrial environments? We are looking for a Field Service Engineer skilled with Industrial Automation Controls to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team within a global leader in digital industrial automation.
Automation Service Engineer – The Role
 * Provide expert-level technical support for PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems across a variety of industrial sites.
 * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system faults on-site.
 * Lead and support commissioning activities and system upgrades.
 * Contribute to full project life cycles—from Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through to installation and final handover.
 * Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota, supporting critical operations for key customers.
Automation Service Engineer – The Person
 * HNC/Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).
 * Practical experience with multi-vendor control systems—particularly PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS platforms.
 * Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.
 * Familiarity with project execution, from design to commissioning.
 * Awareness of industrial cybersecurity and standards is an advantage.
 * A solution-focused mindset and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
 * Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Location, Travel & Benefits
This role is home-based in the South of England with minimal Nights Away, home most nights. They offer flexible working hours to support work-life balance, a generous pension with employer contributions up to 10%, paid overtime, door-to-door travel time paid, fully expensed company car, and 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (with the option to buy/sell an additional five days).
The ideal candidate will be located within or around Bristol, London, or Oxford. You will join a strong team supporting a broad range of clients across the South/M4 corridor. If you are keen on working with a variety of applications, this could be the role for you.
