Senior Ladieswear Buyer

We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Ladieswear Buyer for our client near Leeds, offering a more exciting and individual approach than other clothing catalogues in the UK.

Purpose Of The Role
To lead the ladieswear buying team in developing remarkable products across multiple categories and to identify new opportunities for sales growth.
To source and negotiate prices to achieve overall GM targets and quality expectations.
To embed new processes and support business growth.
Main Activities
* Build a range that meets and exceeds seasonal budget expectations, bringing remarkable, interesting, and exciting products to the market aligned with brand identity.
* Deliver margin targets and maintain selling prices within the agreed pricing framework.
* Utilize knowledge of competitors and market trends to define ranges and identify new sales opportunities.
* Analyze data and sales figures, interpret departmental performance, and identify missed opportunities through reports.
* Present range proposals for approval to owners/CEO.
* Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
* Assess quality initiatives with the QA team to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Collaborate with merchandising on planning and seasonal framework briefs, aiming to exceed expectations.
* Maintain organized administration and accurate records.
* Manage sustainability initiatives based on set targets.
* Oversee critical path management in coordination with merchandising and QA departments.
* Support and develop Assistant Buyers and Junior Buyers.
* Brief creative teams on content and layout for catalogues.
* Coordinate product photography briefs for launches.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience as a womenswear buyer within retail, with in-depth product knowledge. Understanding of planning and trading complexities in multi-channel retailing of own-brand merchandise.
Strong interpersonal, communication, numerical, and analytical skills. Excellent negotiation skills to drive margins.
A BA Honours degree is desirable but not essential.
