Consultant Radiologist – Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

We are seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in any of the following areas: Musculoskeletal, Urology or Gynaecology to join a team of 22 Consultant Radiologists.
We are looking for a passionate, committed and innovative individual who will be valued and supported within our Trust.
We offer attractive working conditions which include up to 2 days working from home. We have recently upgraded our Fluoroscopy room and are about to replace our Interventional Suite and static MR scanner.
Main duties of the job
The job plan is for 10 Programmed Activities - 8.5 Direct Clinical Care and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activity (1.5 Core SPA). Additional SPA is available for additional roles in the department (Clinical/Educational Supervisor etc. There is a local agreement at WUTH that an additional 2 hours per week SPA are accommodated in monthly audit sessions and teaching during DCC commitments. Flexible and partial remote working patterns are readily considered.
The successful diagnostic candidate will participate in the diagnostic on-call Rota and will provide weekend working sessions as part of their DCC. There is a 1 PA weekly allowance for diagnostic on-call duties and weekend working time. The diagnostic consultant on call is 2nd on call. 1st on call is a combination of the regional registrar hub and evening/overnight outsourcing company. Interventional on call is shared with The Countess of Chester Hospital and is 1st on call.
The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in service development and redesign as well as collaboration with other local service providers.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT/CCST/CESR
Audit
* Experience of participation in regular clinical audit
Interpersonal Skills
* Demonstrate ability to relate to and work within a team
Research
* Evidence of the ability to carry out quality improvement work and/or medical research
Teaching
* Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors
* Previous attendance on Appraisal Techniques and Small Group Teaching Workshops
Physical
* Able to fulfil all aspects of the post, and to be able to respond quickly to emergencies within the department, as necessary.
* Meets professional health requirements (in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: - CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) - CESR (or) European Community Rights
