Position: QSHE Lead

PRS Engineering has engaged with a new client and an established FTSE 250 manufacturer with global presence operating across 70 sites in 18 countries, employing 8,000. Due to implement of a new major ERP system, we are a seeking a (QSHE) Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Engineer/Lead to join on a 18 months fixed term contract.
Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage all aspects of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) compliance and continuous improvement at the Redditch site during a critical transition period. This role covers the responsibilities of the existing QHSE Manager while they focus on implementing a major ERP system investment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
* Maintain and improve ISO 9001 compliance and site quality systems.
* Oversee internal audits, corrective actions, and supplier quality performance.
* Support product and process quality improvements in collaboration with operations.
Health & Safety
* Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and company standards.
* Carry out Gap analysis, assign and implement actions for new group HSE Framework Standards.
* Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement preventive measures.
* Drive safety culture through training and engagement initiatives.
Environmental Management
* Maintain Group environmental compliance.
* Monitor and report on environmental KPIs (waste, emissions, energy usage).
* Support sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate goals.
Leadership & Communication
* Act as the primary QHSE contact for internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide guidance and training to staff on QHSE policies and best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams during ERP implementation to ensure QHSE requirements are integrated.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Quality, Safety, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in QHSE management within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and UK H&S regulations.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to manage priorities during periods of change.
