The Business Development Manager will drive sales efforts to win new business with government and public sector clients. Successful candidates will be ambitious and proactive in finding new opportunities to sell Datactics software licences or professional services, securing contracts and fostering strong client relationships. They will bring sales experience, technology knowledge and creativity to the role, to become an expert in the Datactics solution and the challenges faced by the market in managing large volumes of complex, business-critical data.
Responsibilities
* Winning new Datactics clients in Government and the Public Sector.
* Securing contracts for software licenses (ARR) and professional services.
* Managing pipeline of sales opportunities from Lead to Close.
* Identifying new opportunities via clients, partners, tenders or outreach (LinkedIn, Email, etc.)
* Supporting business development efforts to generate leads.
* Leading discovery and qualification process with clients, alongside PreSales Engineering colleagues for demonstrations and Technical Q+A.
* Understanding prospect pain points and business needs through consultative questioning.
* Presenting tailored solutions on data quality, data matching or crime classification, emphasizing differentiation, ROI and business impact.
* Assisting co-ordination of Proof of Concept (PoC) exercises.
* Managing bid/ RFX responses with wider team of technology and client delivery colleagues.
* Producing tailored proposal documents to prospective clients, collaborating with management.
* Working with Finance and CEO on contracts and other commercial agreements.
* Travelling to meet prospective clients or represent Datactics at trade shows (all expenses paid).
* Collaborating with Head of Business Development and CEO on shaping GovTech Sales Strategy.
* Owning duties related to Procurement Frameworks (G-Cloud, eTenders, etc.)
* Identifying and working with Partners.
* Engaging with market via outbound channels (LinkedIn, Email, PR, Industry Groups, etc.)
* Developing strong market and product knowledge of industry data quality and data matching requirements, use cases, data domains, systems, competitors, etc.
Criteria
* 2+ years' sales experience in software, technology, or consulting.
* Knowledge of sales qualification methodologies (MEDDPICC, BANT, etc.)
* Knowledge of or interest in data management software.
* Experience working with government or public sector clients (ideal).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
* A proactive, creative, and client-focused approach.
* Degree in business, management, or technology (desirable, not essential).
