Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We’re on the lookout for a Drainage and Water Design Team Leader to join our dynamic Design team based in Speke / Wymondham.
Kier Design is a top-25 engineering consultancy, renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across all sectors of the built environment. With access to Kier's impressive £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, you’ll be part of exciting frameworks with national and local governments, as well as a variety of other engaging projects.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Drainage and Water Design Team Leader, you will:
* Lead a talented team in delivering high-quality, compliant, and sustainable drainage and water design solutions for residential, educational, and government projects.
* Act as the technical and delivery lead for assigned work packages, ensuring designs meet programme, budget, and risk commitments.
* Collaborate closely with the Design Manager and wider Kier Design and Construction teams to enhance team capability and maintain strong client relationships.
* Implement standardized delivery processes to improve efficiency, quality, and predictability across projects.
* Manage lump-sum Design & Build work packages, proactively addressing short deadlines and stakeholder requirements.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Proven experience in leading and developing small, highly technical design teams.
* Strong skills in managing programmes, budgets, and risks across building and development projects.
* Experience in client and stakeholder management, with a focus on clear communication and responsiveness.
* A track record of delivering high-quality drainage and flood risk solutions.
* Knowledge of SUDS, Planning Policy, Building Regulations, and flood risk strategy approvals.
* A full driving license and a willingness to travel as needed.
Working Conditions
Location: Speke / Wymondham - with remote working options available and occasional travel to the office required.
