With a small but dedicated reception team, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Reception Manager to lead and support the day-to-day running of our front desk operations.
About the Role
As Reception Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a small team of receptionists, ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional patient-facing services. You will be a key point of contact between the reception team and the clinical/management team, playing a vital role in the patient journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support, and motivate the reception team to deliver outstanding service
* Manage daily reception duties including rota planning, workload allocation, and problem-solving
* Ensure the reception area runs efficiently and maintains a welcoming and professional atmosphere
* Work closely with the Practice Manager and clinical staff to improve systems and processes
* Monitor and improve appointment-booking efficiency and patient access
* Provide training and development support to reception staff
* Uphold confidentiality and data protection policies at all times
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and confident in leading a small team in a busy and sometimes challenging reception environment.
Essential
* Previous experience in a receptionist or front-desk management role
* Strong leadership and people-management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Strong IT skills and experience with healthcare systems (SystmOne)
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with empathy
