We are currently recruiting for a Tax Associate to join our team in Bromsgrove.
Our Bromsgrove office specialises in supporting Foster carers and Shared Lives carers by providing two services:
* A free telephone advice line to circa 30,000 households throughout the UK. Call volumes vary from 30 or so per day in quiet periods to 80-100 in the busy period (November -January)
* A tax return preparation service for paying clients (currently circa 4000 clients)
Brief Job Description
* Handling calls on the tax, national insurance and benefits helpline
* Processing tax returns
* Generating bills on CCH and sending out completed tax returns and documents by e-mail for client approval.
* Processing self-assessment tax returns for our Foster carer clients
* Preparing the tax return from the information received from a client up to the “review” stage
* Preparing the letter that goes out with the tax return
* Raising client bills
* Contacting HMRC to resolve queries on a client’s tax return and preparing appeals for penalties
Requirements for the role
* Excellent people skills, particularly over the phone
* The ability to do repetitive, process driven tasks quickly and accurately
* Attention to detail
* Ideally some knowledge of personal tax
* A good working knowledge of; Excel, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
* Knowledge of CCH accounting software (preferred but not required)
