EHS Coordinator – 6 Month contract/secondment

POSITION SUMMARY: The H&S Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support for health and safety requirements. This individual will work closely with the Senior EHS Manager and the EHS Specialist at Falkirk/Larbert to ensure that the H&S programme is maintained and communicated to employees, regulatory requirements are met, and that all safety notice boards are kept up to date.
Responsibilities
* Implementation and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures and standards
* Meeting minute taking for SHEF committee and assisting with monthly SHEF slides
* Q Pulse – management of procedures, risk assessments, MSDS, fire and weekly inspections, SHEF committee actions, accidents and near misses, uploading of documents
* Management of spreadsheets – accident and near misses, COSHH, weekly inspections, prescription safety glasses
* Administration of safety alerts/bulletins/lessons learnt
* Management of COSHH management system
* Scanning of documents (e.g., accident investigations) for upload to Q Pulse
* Maintaining stock of first aid room items
* Managing the stock of safety footwear and other PPE
* Claims – gathering relevant information and scanning and sending documents to insurers, maintaining files (electronic and manual)
* Filing as required
* Backup for fire team (fire alarm tests, etc.)
Qualifications
* Good communication, planning & coordination skills
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Relevant qualification in a related field is an advantage
* Good IT skills: Microsoft Office, Excel and other project management tools
* Solid organisational skills including high attention to detail
* Experience in HSE and/or Quality environment
* Able to demonstrate good understanding of key EHS practices
