TeacherActive are proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary provision in Liverpool that provides specialist education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a nurturing and structured environment where young people are supported to re-engage with learning, build positive relationships, and develop essential life skills.
We are currently seeking a Science Teacher with a Chemistry specialism to join their dedicated and passionate team. This role will be on behalf of TeacherActive initially, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role:
Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons, with a focus on Chemistry, across KS3 and KS4
Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence in students
Develop lessons and schemes of work that meet the needs of pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges
Work collaboratively with the wider school team to support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and academic progress
Foster strong, trusting relationships with pupils built on respect and understanding
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with a specialism or strong background in Chemistry
Experience teaching students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
Strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach
Passionate about making science accessible, engaging, and relevant for all learners
Resilient, reflective, and committed to supporting every pupil’s individual journey
