Logistics Coordinator (Nights)
Location: Redditch (office-based)
Hours: 44 hours per week | 4 on / 4 off | 19:00 – 07:00 (includes weekends)
Contract: Permanent
We are recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator (Nights) to join a fast-paced transport and freight operation based in Redditch. This is a fully office-based role combining customer service, quoting and transport coordination, suited to someone with experience in freight forwarding or logistics who is confident working nights and handling time-critical movements.
The role
You will be responsible for managing shipments overnight, ensuring goods move efficiently from A to B while maintaining clear communication with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing customer enquiries and orders by phone and email
* Loading jobs onto the system and tracking shipments end-to-end
* Quoting UK and EU transport and offering alternative solutions where required
* Booking transport and liaising with suppliers and carriers
* Managing urgent and time-critical movements, including line stoppages
* Offering airfreight solutions when required
* Keeping customers updated on job progress and resolving issues proactively
* Closing out job files, obtaining PODs and ensuring documentation is complete
* Ensuring jobs are accurate and completed prior to invoicing
* Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure cost-effective planning and profitability
* Communicating clearly with warehouse teams regarding inbound and outbound activity
* Maintaining accurate system data, paperwork and KPIs
* Liaising with Operations, Accounts and Warehouse teams and escalating issues when required
What we’re looking for
* Experience in a logistics, transport or freight forwarding role
* European planning experience (essential)
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Confident using transport systems and MS Office
* Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise
* Calm under pressure with a solutions-focused mindset
* A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
* CPC and second language skills are advantageous but not essential
Working hours & benefits
* 44 hours per week
* 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, Monday to Sunday (nights)
* Working hours: 19:00 – 07:00
* 10% shift allowance
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
