The Opportunity
Shore Medical Group are seeking Call Handlers to join our friendly team at Lilliput Surgery, to provide accurate, efficient, and punctual medical administration to patients and staff by way of data input into a clinical triage system.
Call Handlers assist patients and the public with their queries over the telephone, working as part of a team helping with the successful running of a busy GP Practice.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8.00am-6.00pm/6.30pm (various shifts available)
Hourly Rate: £12.21 per hour
Key Responsibilities
* To provide a high-quality data processing service to patients on our triage system via telephone or face to face
* Dealing with varied patient queries by phone and in person
* On receipt of patient call, search computerised patient records, checking patient details and patient confidentiality
* On receipt of a call, you are responsible for recording the right information, sometimes under difficult circumstances and offering advice or reassurance to the patient
* Entering patient details on to SystmConnect about their condition which categorises the seriousness of the illness or injury – you will then assign to our highly skilled care navigation team who will ensure that the patient receives the most appropriate care from us
* Answering incoming calls in a timely, polite, and patient focused manner
About You
* Previous experience in a busy role handling calls and efficiently managing and prioritising administrative tasks
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* A calming and professional telephone manner with the ability to adapt to differing calls with ease
* High attention to detail with accuracy applied across all work
* Ability to work well in a time-sensitive environment
* Educated to a high standard at GCSE level in Maths, English or equivalent
* Fully conversant in Microsoft Office packages
* Proven experience in a GP/NHS department environment would be highly desirable
