Office & Finance Manager (Part-Time)
Location: Faringdon, Oxfordshire
Hours: up to 20 hours per week with flexibility to suit applicants availability
Salary: £28k - £35k pro-rata, negotiable dependent upon experience

Andrew Townsend Architects is seeking an experienced, highly-organised and forward-thinking Office
Manager to play a central role in the continuing development and smooth operation of our conservation led architectural practice.
This is a key position within the practice, combining administrative leadership and operational
management, with the opportunity to contribute to the practice's ongoing evolution. We are looking for
someone reliable, capable, confident and discreet, who enjoys taking ownership and pride in building
efficient, well-structured systems that support high-quality architectural work.

prestigious and historically significant buildings across the UK.
Our work is rooted in a deep respect for the well-being of existing buildings and their settings. Our

The Role
This is a senior and varied position combining finance management, practice administration and office
operations.
Beyond maintaining the day-to-day running of the practice, the role offers the opportunity to help
modernise and refine internal systems, supporting the practice as it continues to grow and evolve. The
successful candidate will work closely with the Partners to ensure that operational processes, financial
management and digital systems are efficient, resilient and future-facing.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Bookkeeping
Running payroll, pension submissions and VAT returns
Using Xero for book-keeping (training can be provided)
Recording staff hours and updating monthly spreadsheets
Preparing invoices, issuing fee statements and following up on payments
Managing banking and online payments
Liaising with the accountant and bank when required
Administration & Executive Support
Front-of-house reception and managing calls/emails
Preparing and amending reports, letters and documents
Coordinating diaries, meetings and site visits
Supporting monthly office meetings and preparing action plans
Liaising with IT support and service providers
Managing filing systems and office documentation
Ordering office supplies, technical information and samples
Managing cleaning, waste/recycling and general office upkeep
Managing the practice's social media and website
About You
We are seeking someone who:
Has demonstrable experience in office and financial management
Is confident managing payroll, VAT returns and bookkeeping processes
Is highly organised, methodical and attentive to detail
Is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility
Has an interest in improving systems and embracing appropriate digital tools
Communicates clearly and professionally with clients and consultants
Is proficient in Microsoft Office
Has experience with Xero (advantageous; training can be provided, if required)

who would value being part of a practice engaged in the stewardship and adaptation of significant historic buildings.
