Role: Environmental Manager
Duration: Permanent
Location: Birmingham and surrounding area (Site based West Midlands)
Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 + mileage

Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
This role supports the Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) and Sustainability Manager in achieving environmental and sustainability objectives. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the Sustainability Manager in developing and delivering training and tools for environment and sustainability management.
2. Collaborating with project teams to integrate environment and sustainability objectives and facilitate knowledge sharing.
3. Monitoring progress against KPIs outlined in the Projects Environment and Sustainability Plans.
4. Reporting on environment and sustainability issues internally and externally.
5. Supporting the implementation of the Considerate Contractor Scheme on site.
6. Sharing best practices and innovations through presentations and news items.
7. Assisting CEEQUAL Assessors in implementing CEEQUAL standards across projects.
This role may be shared across multiple projects.
Environmental and Sustainability Advisors Responsibilities
Producing Project Environment and Sustainability Plans with project teams, ensuring objectives are embedded, and supporting the development of Environmental Management Systems.
Person Specification
* Extensive construction industry experience in environmental/sustainability roles with proven success.
* Experience with Environmental Management Systems.
* Knowledge in Carbon Management and savings.
Desirable Qualifications
* Transport sector experience.
* Experience with Light Rail, rail, or highway projects.
* Qualified auditor.
* Professional qualifications in environment/sustainability.
* Environmental/Engineering degree (desirable).
* CEEQUAL Certification (desirable).
* Membership in a professional body (desirable).
* ISO 14001 auditor qualification (preferred).
