The Child Health and Parenting Service are looking for suitable candidates to join our dynamic team in providing quality service to families of children under 5. There are multiple vacancies available across the Northern region of Tasmania which includes Launceston and surrounding areas.

The Team:
The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) provide important health and wellbeing services for families across Tasmania with children aged 0-5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood service providers.

The Role:
The CHaPS support families as they transition into parenthood, enhancing parental confidence and capacity, and providing information and services focused on building relationships between children and parents/care givers.
* Nursing Care: assess, plan, implement and evaluate health care in collaboration with individuals/groups, families and communities.
* Teamwork: interact effectively with clients’ families and other professionals to facilitate the provision of optimum child-centred health care.
* Excellence in Practice: active involvement in maintaining and continually improving the quality of patient/client care. This may include participation in research and evidence-based practice.
* Learning Culture: identify and meet client goals in partnership with clients and their families/significant others.
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives and related training.
You will need:
1. Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of client care in child and family health nursing and in line with legal requirements and the NMBA National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
2. Demonstrated sound knowledge of the principles of primary health care and the ability to apply these in child and family health nursing.
3. Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent, full time or part time, day worker position, working up to 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Multiple fixed term full time or part time, day worker position, working up to 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to three (3) years.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:$78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
* Current Working with Children Registration
* Current Driver’s Licence
