The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join a highly respected and well-established organisation based in central Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a varied and hands-on position within a busy facilities team.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and upgrading a wide range of electrical systems and infrastructure across a diverse estate of both modern and older buildings. The role requires a strong sense of initiative, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude to ensure safe and effective operation at all times.
Main Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure safe and compliant systems.
* Diagnose and repair faults across a variety of electrical installations.
* Install and commission new electrical components and systems as required.
* Perform routine inspections and testing, maintaining accurate records of work completed.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations and health & safety procedures.
* Support periodic testing programmes including PAT testing and fixed wiring inspections.
* Assist in minor refurbishment and upgrade projects across the estate.
* Maintain tools and testing equipment in good working order and report defects promptly.
* Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance services.
* Respond to out-of-hours emergencies on a call-out rota basis (when required).
Skills/Experience:
* City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation/Maintenance.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified.
* C&G 2391 or equivalent testing and inspection qualification (preferred).
* Proven experience in a maintenance role.
* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Good physical fitness and willingness to work at heights or in confined spaces.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Comfortable working alone or as part of a wider team.
* Basic IT proficiency to manage digital work records.
* Full UK driving licence.
Salary & Working Hours:
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
