EQUANS are recruiting for a Asset Surveyor to be based in Winsford. This is a 12 month fixed term full-time role working 40 hours per week. General Overview The Asset Surveyor is responsible for undertaking planned and reactive asset condition surveys across the Cheshire West & wider North West Services portfolio, ensuring contractual compliance, accurate asset data, and timely reporting to support lifecycle planning and capital works delivery. The role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of asset information, supporting statutory compliance, informing capital investment decisions, and enabling effective risk management across the contract. The Asset Surveyor will work closely with operational, commercial and capital delivery teams to ensure survey outputs are accurate, auditable, and aligned with client and contract requirements. Key Accountabilities The Asset Surveyor has a direct impact on: Contractual compliance, ensuring asset survey obligations are met in line with contract requirements Capital works planning and delivery, supporting a capital programme of circa £6m through robust asset condition data Risk reduction, identifying asset risks early to prevent service failure, unplanned reactive spend, or client escalation Commercial performance, improving scope definition, reducing abortive works, and supporting substantiation of variations and investment cases Client confidence, providing reliable, evidence-based data to support decision-making and assurance The role influences programme delivery, capital investment prioritisation, and the overall credibility of asset information used by both Equans and the client. The role requires the ability to assess complex building assets across a diverse estate, often balancing competing priorities such as operational continuity, budget constraints, compliance requirements, and client expectations. The Asset Surveyor must exercise professional judgement when: Interpreting asset condition and lifecycle risk Prioritising surveys within programme constraints Identifying when issues can be resolved at survey level versus escalation to engineering, commercial or capital delivery teams Working across live operational environments with minimal disruption The role involves managing multiple sites, variable asset types, and changing priorities while maintaining consistent standards, accuracy and auditability of survey outputs. Essential Key Skills Good knowledge of building services and legislation. At least 5 years’ experience working within a Facilities or Building services environment. Working knowledge of M&E related activities. Experience of using a CAFM system. understanding of Landlord and tenant space delivery of asset and maintenance requirements. Ability to build strong professional relationships with other groups within Engineering Services. Be able to report to the Head of Projects in relation to labour, suggesting efficiencies as well as provide updates to programme and datasets.
