Salary: Up to £X, per annum*
Type: Permanent. Full time (average per week, with various shifts on rota)

As a Prison Officer, you’ll ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone around you. Your work involves:
* Supervising prisoners during wing activities
* Overseeing work and education programs, encouraging participation
* Handling operational tasks such as headcounts, searches, security, and admin
* Managing at-risk prisoners
We operate 24/7, covering shifts on days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. We value work-life balance and offer flexible rota options.
Preparing for your recruitment journey:
You’ll complete an online assessment. Successful candidates will be invited for interviews, role plays, written exercises, competency-based interviews, and maths tests. A fitness test includes:
* Bleep Test: shuttle runs in time with bleeps (~3 minutes)
* Agility Test: running a course of cones within a set time
* Shield Hold Test: holding a shield at a 90-degree angle for 1 minute
* Grip Test: measuring grip strength in KG
After passing assessments, you’ll attend an 8-week Initial Training Course (ITC) at the prison, including classroom training and shadowing. The ITC provides a Diploma in Custodial Care, First Aid, and Control and Restraint training.
