Instrument Coordinator (Bank) The Chiltern Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £12.21 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Instrument Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Duties of this role include: Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required. Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules. Coordinate the tracking and management of theatre endoscopes, ensuring safe handling, traceability, and turnaround times in line with hospital and regulatory standards. Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies. Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking, supporting cost-effective resource utilisation and high theatre readiness. Participate in audits and stock reviews, ensuring traceability and expiry management are adhered to. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Experience working within a theatre environment or clinical support role. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced setting. Basic understanding of infection control, instrument handling, and decontamination processes. Good communication and teamworking skills with a professional and reliable approach.
