Onsite IT Support Engineer (Early Career) – East Midlands
Location: Newark on Trent, Mansfield, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester. 25% travel required; full driving licence mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing onsite support to assigned offices, working with business stakeholders to proactively improve IT systems.
* Diagnose and fix hardware, software, and network problems for users.
* Manage and deliver site‑related projects, initiatives, and office moves.
* Act as the service desk escalation point for assigned offices.
* Contribute to projects as required, relating to new technologies or office requirements.
* Prioritise workload and communicate well with colleagues on agreed deadlines.
* Resolve tickets that are escalated to onsite support and reduce tickets to the service desk through proactive support and system management.
* Actively contribute to problem management and knowledge transfer.
* Work closely with the Service Desk to feed back on support calls and ongoing issues, managing their resolution within the Service Level Agreement.
* Liaise with and update users on the progress and resolution of their issues.
* Proactively identify repetitive work and report potential solutions for automation or improved efficiencies.
Required Qualifications
* Clear, concise and friendly people manner – essential for 1st line support.
* Good attention to detail – identifying small issues that could lead to larger system problems.
* Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
* Experience working independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise own workload effectively.
* Experience in a service desk or IT support role.
* Good knowledge of Windows operating systems.
* Full driving licence.
* Experience with TeamViewer, SCCM, Active Directory, Asure or ITSM ticket‑management tools is advantageous.
