Responsibilities
* Coordinate, develop and deliver ongoing programmes of work and activities for a small group of people supported, enabling access to all areas of the service.
* Promote self-esteem, social skills, inclusion, skill development and increased independence through horticultural, gardening, conservation, woodcraft, sustainability initiatives and projects.
* Lead frontline staff and provide supervision to Support Workers; ensure care plans are up to date and risk assessments are completed and reviewed as required.
* Focus on the development of the Allotment & Polytunnel area to support sustainable allotment growing sessions for the Farm Shop and provide produce for resident animals and shows.
* Develop new ideas, work with minimal supervision at times, and maintain a positive, can-do attitude as part of a forward-thinking team.
Qualifications
* Experience/qualifications in garden maintenance, allotment horticulture or conservation is desirable.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate and lead a team with a positive approach.
Additional information
Hours: 5 days per week, Monday–Friday 08:30–16:30; some weekend and evening work may be required to meet service needs.
Service areas include Day Opportunities (education, vocational and leisure activities for adults with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and other complex needs) and Land Based Services (horticulture, conservation, animal care, garden maintenance, habitat management and woodcraft).
Lead within the Environmental & Sustainability team and contribute to the 23 acre wood, pumpkin patch, polytunnel & allotment, community orchard and woodcraft.
