An exciting opportunity has arisen with SBc Contracts, Scottish Borders Council’s external trading organisation, which delivers a wide range of civil engineering and building projects to internal council clients and external customers.
We are seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee a diverse portfolio of works across the Scottish Borders and wider area. This role involves the day‑to‑day supervision of civil engineering and building sites, including, but not limited to, groundworks, roadworks, bridgeworks, drainage, flood prevention schemes, new builds and building refurbishments.
As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and organising works to meet agreed programmes, ensuring resources, materials, plant and labour are deployed efficiently and safely. You will supervise operatives and subcontractors on site, ensuring all works are delivered to specification, within programme, and in full compliance with health, safety, environmental requirements and the organisation’s quality management systems.
You will play a key role in maintaining a safe working environment through effective site inductions, the implementation of method statements and risk assessments, and by ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with SBc Contracts’ quality systems and procedures. The role also involves regular liaison with clients and stakeholders, attending site meetings, and supporting the commercial team where required.
This is a hands‑on, varied position suited to a proactive and flexible individual with proven experience in a construction environment.
