Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content-based creations. This is an exciting, opportunity for a highly experienced senior member of nursing staff to be the Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) role at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC)

The post holder will be a dynamic practitioner who is able to multi-task, make high level decisions and demonstrate excellent leadership skills. The successful applicant is expected to take on the job share role at 0.4 wte of the DHON with an Operational Lead focus with the current post holder and will work very closely with the existing DHON and be aware of all issues pertinent at this level and be able to cross cover both roles. The successful applicant will be willing and able to lead the hospital, challenge practices and processes and be an excellent, professional role model.

The successful candidate will lead the operational running of the hospital, take a wider DHON remit also, and ensure the delivery of a quality service for the children and their families as well as having responsibility for effectively managing the allocated budget and resources. As such they need to be an excellent decision maker, work with all professions and can present and deliver solutions to problems with ease. They will have line management responsibility for several Lead Nurse roles and the Clinical Site Team

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic group with BRHC and across the other Divisions in UHBW and will be expected to focus on providing leadership and visibility across the whole hospital and represent the Division externally, make high level decisions and ensure clinical care delivery is of the highest standard.

Applicants are required to be RSCN or RN-Part 15 (Child Branch), and ideally to have a post-registration qualification in a related acute paediatric field. You will have excellent communication skills, proven clinical skills together with organisational and management expertise.
