Novus Cambria is a leading provider of prison education. We are recruiting a Work Coach within our Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) provision, playing a key role in supporting learners to make informed decisions about their future. Working closely with the prison, this role supports learners throughout their journey in custody and upon release. This includes delivering one‑to‑one guidance and small group sessions within the education department and on the wings, helping learners identify realistic progression goals that support reduced reoffending. The successful applicant will provide advice on learning, work, training and progression, offering practical guidance on education pathways. They will cover personal development, academic progression, and wellbeing, with a strong focus on enabling learners to move successfully into employment, education or training upon release. We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Cambria, our prison education provider at HMP Berwyn, working as a Work Coach. Site Information HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Ability to take a systematic and coordinated approach to work Proven ability to build positive working relationships internally and with external partners, including universities, employers, and charities Inclusive, supportive, and learner-focused approach with a commitment to equality and wellbeing IT competent, with confidence using digital systems and learner records Previous experience within education (Desirable) Hold at least a L2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Hold an appropriate supporting qualification at L3 ie.
