Be among the first 25 applicants. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our Macular service within St Paul’s at the Royal Liverpool Hospital on a part-time basis.
The successful candidate will have experience within a hospital Ophthalmology unit and experience with Macular patients undergoing intravitreal injections. The role includes general health care as well as assisting the specialist nurse practitioners and medical staff within the macular service. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and be able to work on a variety of IT systems. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, the post holder will undertake a range of tasks and duties as delegated by a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
* Provide general health care and assist the Macular Service Department team with patient care.
* Assist specialist nurse practitioners and medical staff within the macular service.
* Support patients undergoing intravitreal injections and related procedures.
* Communicate effectively with patients and families; maintain attention to detail and employ various IT systems as required.
* Work under the supervision of a registered nurse and undertake tasks as delegated.
Qualifications
* Experience in a hospital Ophthalmology unit.
* Experience with macular patients undergoing intravitreal injections.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to work across multiple IT systems.
