We're looking for a hands‑on, confident HR Business Partner to support a complex, fast‑paced operation of c.380 colleagues, fully site based at Luton Airport, supporting the easyJet Ground Handling operation.
This is a true job‑based HRBP role, where strong ER capability is essential. You'll be deeply involved in performance management, building line manager capability, employee engagement and managing a varied ER caseload — this is HR at the sharp end, supporting a workforce that serves the general public every day.
As a trusted advisor, you'll partner closely with senior leaders to align HR activity to business strategy, balancing commercial outcomes with the employee experience. You'll play a critical role in driving change, shaping culture and strengthening leadership capability in a tough but rewarding environment. What your day could involve
* Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at sites.
* Support the ER agenda and lead / support relationships and key processes with unions at sites.
* Deploy the Business HR Priorities, as directed e.g. labour flexibility, OMS, LPMC, payroll optimisation, T&C's standardisation.
* Provide HR support to start ups and business wins, losses and transfers.
* Ensure employee performance management (sickness, discipline, grievance) is robustly supported.
* Support managers to develop and deliver solutions for workforce planning and management including organization design, forecasting resourcing needs, agency and identifying future talent requirements.
* Act as an advisor to managers to support compliance with HR policies.
What we need from you
* Strong HR Business Partner experience within a customer‑centric, operational environment
* Proven union relationship management and pay negotiations experience
* Solid ER expertise across performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and attendance
* High energy with a genuine passion for culture, engagement and visible HR presence
* Credible influencer, able to challenge and support senior leaders in a tough setting
* Experience building management capability through coaching and pragmatic advice
* Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working at pace in a demanding, public‑facing operation
* CIPD studying, qualified or equivalent level of professional HR knowledge
* Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
