We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our culinary team as a baker.
This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of food production and preparation within our bakery. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for cooking and baking, along with a strong understanding of food safety practices. A Baker's role involves preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of baked goods, from bread and cakes to pastries and pies, using both manual and machine processes to mix ingredients, shape dough, and bake items to perfection. Key responsibilities include monitoring ingredient quality, ensuring food safety compliance, managing inventory and supplies, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Essential skills include a strong understanding of baking techniques, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work effectively in a hot, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Ingredient Preparation: Accurately weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients for baked goods.
* Dough Management: Kneading, shaping, and allowing dough to rise and rest according to recipes.
* Baking: Operating ovens, monitoring temperatures, and setting timers to bake various products.
* Finishing & Decoration: Decorating and finishing baked items, including icing and toppings for display or sale.
* Quality Control: Performing quality and food safety checks on ingredients and finished products.
* Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels and ordering new supplies to meet production needs.
* Maintenance: Cleaning equipment, work surfaces, and the overall bakery area to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
* Customer Service: Serving customers, taking orders, and potentially making deliveries.

Shifts are between the hours of 04:00 to 21:30 (8 hour shifts) and must be flexible across 7 day week.

Pay: £27,000.00-£36,500.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
