This is one of the most significant leadership appointments Dignity has made in recent years. The Crematoria & Memorial Group (CMG), a division of Dignity, is at an inflexion point. With a national network of crematoria and cemeteries, a growing memorialisation business, and a clear strategic mandate to unlock significant revenue and growth potential, CMG is ready for a leader who will take it to the next level.
As Managing Director of CMG, you will sit on Dignity's Executive Leadership Team, report directly to the Group CEO, and take full ownership of one of the UK's most important end‑of‑life service businesses. You will lead a talented, committed team through a period of genuine transformation, scaling revenues, raising the bar on operational excellence, and putting CMG on the map as the gold standard in crematoria and memorial services.
This is not a maintenance role. It's a builder's role. A growth role. A role for someone who is energised by complexity, motivated by purpose, and who can be the Managing Director of a division of the UK's leading end‑of‑life specialist.
What you'll be doing
* Owning CMG's full P&L and driving it with ambition, rigour and commercial creativity.
* Leading the growth of Dignity's memorialisation business from product and pricing to field execution and digital engagement.
* Shape the future of CMG's cemetery estate, capacity, product range, and community connection.
* Building a national high‑performance culture with clear standards, strong accountability, and genuine pride in the work.
* Sitting at the ELT table, contributing to Dignity's wider strategic direction alongside the Group CEO and executive peers.
* Representing CMG externally with communities, partners, and stakeholders who matter.
What we're looking for
* A proven P&L leader, with experience owning a complex, multi‑site business and delivering sustained growth.
* A transformation veteran who knows what it takes to change the way a business operates and has done it.
* A people‑first leader who builds trust, inspires performance, and develops the people around you.
* Commercially bold and operationally rigorous, able to hold the big picture and the detail at the same time.
* A natural ELT contributor, effective in the boardroom as well as the field.
* Emotionally intelligent, recognising that this business is built on service at life's most difficult moments.
Remuneration & Benefits
* Competitive executive base salary, commensurate with experience
