Working within the Ireland Division, the Fundraising and Volunteers Assistant is a member of the Outreach team who are based out of our office in Belfast. The role plays a vital support function for our key fundraising appeals and will also support the development of our growing volunteer programme. The successful candidate will ideally have experience supporting fundraising Campaigns and be highly motivated to build and maintain excellent relationships with the full range of Trcaires stakeholders. A meticulous, methodical approach to the responsibilities and duties outlined below is crucial. For the candidate with the required experience and passion for the role, Trcaire offers a competitive package of salary and benefits. Reporting to the Fundraising & Engagement Officer in NI, this is a full-time fixed term contract for two years and will bebased in our Belfast office. A minimum of one day per week in the office is required. For the other working days, an application can be made for hybrid/remote working under our policy and will be reviewed in line with the NI team agreement. During key fundraising appeals there will be additional days in the office required, these will be decided in agreement with the Fundraising & Engagement Officer.You will be also be required at times to come into the office to support leave cover in the Donor Services team. Key responsibilities Provide high quality administrative and logistical support for key Fundraising Appeals Assist the outreach team in the development of the volunteer programme including ensuring existing volunteers are adequately supported and resourced and supporting the recruitment process for new volunteers Proactively deal with queries from supporters, volunteers and other key stakeholders via telephone, email, web and post, applying a professional and courteous manner Manage relationships with key third party suppliers including mailing and fulfilment agencies to ensure agreed logistical service levels are delivered to a high standard Support with administrative and logistical tasks related to key outreach or fundraising events. Ensuring administration tasks in relation to Legacy donations is completed in an efficient and timely manner Other duties as required to support the effective operation of the team. On occasion, provide office cover and/or surge support for Donor Services Colleagues, as required, and agreed with the Fundraising & Engagement Officer Essential Requirements SKILLS Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven organisation and administrative skills, Demonstrable knowledge of standard IT packages especially Excel for data entry/calculations Ability to organise and meet deadlines, work independently, prioritise, and multi-task. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent numeric skills. Cash handling. Problem solving ability to resolve queries/complaints as and when they arise. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to work as part of a team. EXPERIENCE A minimum of two years experience working in a role that involves administration processes ( entry, cash handling, logistics support) Previous experience of organising, or being involved in, the organisation of fundraising events. Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office (Especially Excel and including Word & Powerpoint) Experience of scheduling. Customer service/care experience. Experience of working in an office Experience of working with a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system or database like Salesforce desirable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 5 GCSEs, Grade C or above, including Maths & English or equivalent and/or relevant courses and certifications. QUALITIES Flexibility. Solution-focused. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders. Enthusiasm and initiative. Positive approach. Ability to work under pressure. OTHER Experience of working in an office environment.
