Job Overview

Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner Post.

Please note: Posts are open to health and social care professionals, therapists, or Social Workers with experience supporting emotional wellbeing/mental health.

In North Wales, we are very excited to be growing our CAMHS Services. If you have a passion for working with children and adolescents or those experiencing mental health difficulties, and are a healthcare professional, accredited therapist, or Social Worker with experience supporting emotional wellbeing, we are keen to hear from you.


Main duties of the job

You will be a dynamic individual committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, compassionate care and eager to undertake a role within a child and adolescent mental health service.

Our Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner posts are open to candidates skilled in mental health assessment, risk assessment, and delivering interventions to support emotional wellbeing and mental health. Experience working with children and young people would be advantageous.

All employees are offered a structured induction and development plan to support clinicians in developing their skills to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.


Additional Requirements

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Relevant professional Qualification and Registration: NMC registered MH Nurse, NMC registered LD Nurse, SCW/Eng registered Social Worker, HCPC Registered OT, HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist
* Eligible to practice under the mental health measure Wales 2010
* Postgraduate diploma or relevant knowledge, training, and experience in the specialist field
* Excellent knowledge of mental health problems and disorders
* Understanding of family dynamics and issues related to working with families
* Knowledge of relevant therapeutic approaches
* Knowledge and appreciation of national policies
* Welsh language skills

Desirable criteria

* Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach
* Specific evidence-based interventions e.g., EMDR
* Formal qualification in a relevant field e.g., Child Development, Mental Health
* Understanding of service structures and inter-agency working
* Knowledge of disorders/conditions relevant to CAMHS


Experience

Essential criteria

* Post-registration experience working with children, young people, and families in health, social care, or mental health settings

Desirable criteria

* Experience in a specific clinical role related to CAMHS
* Previous CAMHS experience

* Ability to carry out autonomous mental health assessments
* Ability to interpret information to devise care plans
* Ability to deliver evidence-based interventions
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Effective communication and team player
* Ability to relate well to children, young people, and adults
* Good professional relationships with colleagues

* Use of formal assessment tools and clinical interviews
* Implementation of specific evidence-based approaches
