Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £42,941.54
Hours: One night shift role and one day shift role
Contract: Permanent
About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Maintenance Technician. You will plan, monitor and carry out maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and buildings, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards while supporting operational efficiency across the site.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule and maintain the Site Preventative Maintenance Programme
• Perform preventative maintenance and condition monitoring checks
• Minimise downtime through efficient breakdown response and repairs
• Complete production documentation and accurate handovers
• Monitor machinery performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Ensure compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and permits
• Diagnose and repair electro/mechanical packaging machinery
• Maintain building systems and ripening rooms
• Train production employees on machinery and safe operation
• Carry out general building maintenance and maintain asset registers
• Monitor contractor activity and report concerns or misuse
Candidate Requirements:
• City & Guilds or equivalent mechanical qualification
• 17th Edition electrical certification
• Formal Health & Safety training
• Full driving licence
• Proven maintenance experience
• Knowledge of HSE systems, COSHH and CDM regulations
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces
• Strong understanding of power tools and general repairs
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
