Education and Qualification

Essential criteria

1. NMC Registered Nursing Associate
2. Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
3. GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent

4. Motivated to providing the highest standards of care in a changing service
5. Able to work on an internal rotation shift basis and flexible working
6. Awareness of equal opportunities in the workplace
7. Able to work within the accountability framework
8. Personal Integrity

Experience

Essential criteria

9. Work experience relevant to the post
10. Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
11. Working within a multidisciplinary team environment
12. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice
13. Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
14. Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information

Knowledge

Essential criteria

15. Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
16. Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
17. Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
18. Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
19. Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
20. Good verbal and written communication skills
21. Ability to assess, plan, implement and monitor care
22. Able to work systematically and objectively in an environment with patients who can present high risk Able to manage time so that deadlines are met
23. Ability to recognise stress
24. Ability to work as part of a team
25. Able to work sensitively and compassionately with patients
26. Emotional Intelligence and Personal Resilience
27. Awareness of supervision and reflective practice
28. Able to identify and act upon critical deterioration of patient conditions
29. Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues
30. Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting.
31. Provide leadership for junior staff
