Responsibilities
The Lead, Resource Demand Strategy is responsible for delivering robust business processes, systems/tools, cost analytics, and data that enable effective portfolio/study planning and management of operations and resources for the Research & Development (R&D) organization. In partnership with R&D stakeholders, key accountabilities include:
* Development, maintenance, and analysis of study-level cost metrics and insights to inform decision-making and enhance accuracy of early cost estimates throughout the study lifecycle.
* Supporting ongoing utilization, maintenance, and improvement of the sponsor's integrated operations and business planning environment.
* Overseeing finance-related services supporting budget development and resource management activities, including forecasting, variance analysis, and portfolio/project information provision.
* Serving as a member of the Business & Vendor Strategy Management Leadership Team (BVSM-LT), providing strategic support and operational leadership to PRD division leaders, and establishing relationship management with PRD Leadership Teams.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead resource planning, utilization, and demand management to optimize global R&D resources. Lead and mentor the team to foster high performance and continuous improvement.
* Develop and implement resource planning strategies aligned with R&D's objectives and drive operational efficiencies.
* Collaborate with project planners and functional leaders across Finance, PX, Digital, etc.
* Contribute to R&D operational planning, manage OPEX, and forecast budgets effectively.
* Develop data dashboards, visualization, reporting tools, and predictive analytics.
* Oversee capacity planning models to forecast future resource needs based on data and industry trends.
* Support change management initiatives to improve resource planning processes.
Matrix Model Responsibilities
* Enable business leaders to meet budget objectives through effective financial stewardship and resource management.
* Develop strategic operating plans, demand forecasts, and perform budget gap analyses.
* Lead business planning and forecasting activities, including scenario planning and resource variance analysis.
* Maintain and report on workforce status information to define organizational capacity.
Business Partner And Managerial Responsibilities
* Manage critical business operations and strategic planning at senior levels, ensuring alignment with portfolio priorities.
* Build collaborative relationships with leaders and stakeholders.
People Management Responsibilities
* Oversee talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
* Foster an engaged, high-performing workforce and champion a culture of innovation and customer focus.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree with 15+ years' experience or Master's with 13+ years'.
* Experience in drug development and clinical operations.
* Expertise in project management, portfolio management, AI/ML, financial analysis, and data management.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in project/resource management systems and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Planisware).
* Excellent organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills.
