About the Role The Rights Assistant acts as a centralised support function in the Rights Team, responsible for providing administrative, sales enabling and operational support to the team in all their activities. In this role you will have a global remit and will be key in contributing to overall Rights success. The current Rights team is a team of 7, who handle rights licensing across the globe for Education's content. Duties of the role will also include: Rights deal fulfilment and processing, working with internal teams and external customers Use of department technology systems to process Rights activity & supporting the team in their use of these systems Sales enabling & support (including Bookfair preparation tasks) Day-to-day admin & support within team, working with Rights Managers and Rights Director Developing an understanding and knowledge of Rights, Publishing, and the licensing potential of OUP content Represent Rights team across Education International and the wider business About You This role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate strong organisational skills, acquired from within an office based workplace or elsewhere, who can work out priorities and hold people to account. An interest in Rights or Publishing will be very beneficial, alongside the following: Administrative experience Attention to detail particularly with numbers and complex documents Methodical, accurate, efficient, and hard-working Ability to pick up new systems quickly and troubleshoot issues with technology Pro-active with a demonstrable ability to problem-solve Able to juggle and prioritise a varied workload, working independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines Quick to acquire and retain knowledge Ability to work as a team player, a positive attitude and openness and adaptability to change Please note, if you are currently completing your studies and interested in applying for this role - we are able to consider candidates who are available part time in the first instance, with a view to increasing to full time later on. We would require at least 3 days a week on a part time basis, and would need the successful candidate to start on a full time basis by October 1st at the latest. On a part time basis, office attendance would still be required as per our hybrid working policy. Benefits We care about work/life balance here at OUP.
