We are looking for two enthusiastic Senior Paediatric Audiologists to join our expanding team in Hounslow. One full‑time role (37.5 hours) and one part‑time role (30 hours) are available. You will work as an autonomous practitioner in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of a diverse caseload. Your role will require you to carry out a range of comprehensive audiological assessments and provide habilitation to our paediatric population, including those with complex needs.
You will need to be experienced in working in a paediatric setting and be registered with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).
We have a number of sites across Hounslow that you will be expected to work from: Heart of Hounslow Health Centre, Feltham Centre for Health and Chiswick Health Centre.
We are an IQIPS accredited Community Paediatric Audiology Service. We have recently been assessed by NHE England and NWL ICB and they have provided full assurance of our paediatric audiology service. All interviews will be in person on site in Hounslow. We look forward to receiving your application.
Clinical Responsibilities
 * Provision of comprehensive audiological assessments and hearing aid provision to the paediatric population, including children with complex needs.
 * Effective and supportive communication with parents and professionals.
 * Support efficient service delivery.
 * Organise and provide hearing assessments for children with special needs in schools.
 * Assist in gathering departmental performance data, developing clinical pathways and managing patient systems such as Auditbase.
 * Responsible for the referral process to other agencies, such as GPs, ENT and Paediatricians.
 * Supervise junior staff and support their training and development.
Service Delivery Responsibilities
 * Support the Team Lead and Clinical Service Manager in maintaining IQIPS accreditation.
 * Participate in audit programmes and the ongoing development of new techniques and technology within the department.
 * Ensure a family‑friendly approach permeates all contact between audiology services and Deaf/Hard‑of‑Hearing children and their families in own practice and with junior staff.
 * Deal with equipment faults, arranging repairs in line with departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
 * Maintain stock levels, records and conduct stock taking.
Qualifications
 * Degree level or equivalent education in Audiology or MSc in Audiology, OR Parts I and II BAAT and Certificate for higher training (Paediatric).
 * Evidence of CPD.
 * Registered (voluntary) with AHCS.
Desirable Qualifications
 * BSc in Audiology and Certificate of higher training (Paediatric).
 * Deaf awareness training.
 * CAC or CCC certification.
Experience
 * 3 years experience working in an NHS audiology department.
 * 1 year experience as a paediatric audiologist.
 * Experience of aiding children using NHSP/BAA protocols.
 * Experience of working with the Deaf, their families and culture.
Desirable Experience
 * Behavioural, rehabilitation and electrophysiological assessment experience.
 * Audiological experience of working with newborn hearing screening programme.
 * Experience of working with a cochlear implant team.
 * Electrophysiological assessment for young babies.
 * Experience of peer reviews.
Skills and Abilities
 * Ability to work with children and their parents with other disabilities such as learning difficulties and autism.
 * Ability to work as an autonomous professional.
 * Multi‑tasking and working under pressure.
 * Ability to work in a multi‑disciplinary team and with a diverse patient group.
 * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desirable Skills
 * Peer support experience.
Knowledge
 * Infection prevention and control.
 * Supervision ethos.
 * Theoretical and practical knowledge of paediatric audiology and advanced audiological test techniques, including national developments.
 * Ability to formulate comprehensive and appropriate management plans based on robust case history information.
 * Awareness of budgetary and management limitations and constraints.
