This role would suit a recent graduate in an Occupational Health, Environmental Health and safety, Safety Management, or a related field.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Coordinator can support our Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team in a challenging industrial environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
This role will suit a recent graduate/early careers candidate with a real interest in EHS.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development and implementation of environment, health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and assist in risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
3. Provide support to Chemistry Lab and Occupational Health in the form of coordination, administrative support, equipment and record maintenance.
4. Coordinate and conduct environment, health and safety training sessions for employees, including induction training for new hires.
5. Support Emergency Response team training and activities.
6. Support Occupational Health
7. Maintain records and documentation.
8. Assist in managing workplace safety committees and meetings.
9. Support internal and external health and safety audits.
Qualifications/Experience
10. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
11. Has obtained or is actively working toward NEBOSH certifications.
12. Experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting would be desirable.
13. An understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
14. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with relevant health and safety management, learning management or other related software.
