A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Test Engineer, you will support the Assembly, Test, and Overhaul operation within Siemens Energy’s Industrial Turbomachinery business in Lincoln. You’ll work as part of a collaborative test team, supporting the safe and efficient testing of gas turbine engines and systems. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop technical capability, take on increasing responsibility, and progress into customer-facing testing activities over time.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Support and coordinate testing activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant engine testing.
2. Prepare engines and test facilities by ensuring documentation, tooling, and test equipment are ready and correctly calibrated.
3. Apply test setting procedures and support execution of engine and system tests.
4. Complete test documentation accurately and to the required quality standard.
5. Liaise with assembly, engineering, and support functions to resolve issues and maintain test readiness.
6. Support customer witness testing as experience develops.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement, digitalisation, and decarbonisation initiatives within the test operation.
What You Bring
8. HNC or degree qualification in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
9. Experience in testing, commissioning, or a similar technical environment, or strong interest in developing in this area.
10. Knowledge of industrial gas turbines or rotating equipment is desirable.
11. Experience with control systems such as Rustronic MKII or Siemens PCS7 is advantageous.
12. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
13. Excellent IT and digital skills, with an interest in system-based working.
14. A proactive, methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
15. Willingness to learn, develop, and work flexibly when required.
