At Dornan, we are currently recruiting for a Project Manager with fit-out experience to join an existing team on a project in West London.
Reporting to the Project Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for effective management of the project from initial client contact through to project handover and the end of the warranty period.
The role requires achieving company objectives related to service, profitability, and client relationship development. The Project Manager will serve as a key team member and ambassador for the company's values: integrity, dependability, safety, pride, and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
Project Start-Up Phase
* Arrange and chair handover from estimating to construction team
* Liaise with the Project Director regarding staffing
* Develop business plan, cost control, cash flow, and billable schedules
* Produce procurement, design, construction programme, s-curve, and histogram
* Coordinate with client and design team on procurement and engineering issues
* Develop safety and quality plans
* Mobilise subcontractors and labor
* Develop project measures prior to construction
Project Running Phase
* Manage site team and daily activities
* Ensure project delivery within time and budget constraints
* Conduct monthly progress meetings
* Ensure compliance with programme, materials, engineering, quality, and safety standards
* Attend client meetings and hold weekly subcontractor meetings
* Maintain cost and sales control
* Provide regular project updates and reports
* Manage risks and ensure compliance with technical standards
* Control labor and subcontractor activities
* Maintain stakeholder relations and enforce project standards
* Monitor site quality and safety compliance
* Manage materials stock control
Project Completion Phase
* Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover
* Ensure all systems are certified and handed over as per plan
* Complete final account and project close-out reports
* Archive project documentation
* Maintain client contact during warranty period
* Conduct lessons learned review
Required Skills and Experience
* Extensive knowledge of the Project Manager role in construction
* Strong commercial understanding
* Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental systems
* Understanding of team dynamics and strengths
