37.5 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity for band 6 professional registered clinicians to join an expanding team working within the CAMHS Early Help Pathway, working with children, young people and families to act as a CAMHS Liaison Practitioner.
Delivered within an already established CAMHS service, the Early Help pathway provides consultation, assessments and targeted, short‑term interventions up to eight sessions within the I‑THRIVE model, focusing on early intervention in children’s mental health. The post holder will act as the named Early Help Liaison Practitioner for schools within the locality, offering consultation, advice and signposting to services.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the emotional, psychological and social wellbeing of children and young people, with a drive for early intervention. Working at a senior level, the post holder will promote resilience, prevention and early intervention to children and young people.

Key responsibilities
* Deliver consultation, advice and signposting to community services and schools, working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
* Implement evidence‑based targeted interventions and groups; evaluate using outcome measures.
* Ensure timely assessments and interventions and represent CAMHS in multi‑agency meetings, having oversight of the mental health element.
* Participate in the delivery of training for schools and community services.
* Maintain standards of care to the highest level within available resources, and actively participate in line management of junior staff.
* Develop and maintain relationships with all providers and liaise effectively with other CAMHS pathways.
* Keep confidentiality and communicate clearly with children, young people, families and other health professionals.
* Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives; promote person‑centred care and decision‑making by children and young people.
* Be available to work across a seven‑day service and operate within a hybrid model of work.

Person specification
Knowledge
* Relevant legislation and documents pertaining to children such as the Children Act 2004, Child Protection, National Service Framework and Every Child Matters.
* Knowledge of a range of mental health problems and disorders affecting children and young people, and of child development theories.
* Understanding of resilience and vulnerability, and of common physical health issues that may impact people with severe and enduring mental health problems.
Circumstances
* Ability to travel independently and in a timely manner between Livewell Southwest sites and community locations, including areas not served by public transport.
* Flexible working hours, able to work as an individual or across Livewell if required.
Qualifications
* Core qualification in a mental health modality such as Nursing, Social Work, OT, etc., with post‑registration experience or experience as a band 6 working with children in mental health.
* Appropriate registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC).
* Diploma‑level specialist training or equivalent.
* Further relevant training or courses.
* Understanding of therapeutic principles to support interventions within children’s mental health.
* Post‑graduate training in child and adolescent mental health (e.g., counselling, systemic practice).
* Evidence of practice supervisor & assessor training to support nursing students.
Experience
* Post‑registration experience working with people with complex mental illness in community settings.
* Experience collaborating with clients and their families or carers.
* Experience with children and young people who have experienced mental health and psychological well‑being difficulties.
* Experience in assessment, risk, care planning, intervention and evaluation.
* Experience maintaining safety in community settings, including completion of breakaway training or equivalent.
* Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
* Experience within multi‑agency safeguarding systems (e.g., child protection conferences, child in need meetings).
* Experience managing demanding and complex professionals, young people, and colleagues.
* Experience managing caseloads and working in a team approach.
* Experience at a Band 6 level or post‑registration experience.
