We a are a small independent Low Secure Forensic Mental Health unit based in the Drumchapel area of Glasgow about to expand our service. We have a new and exciting opportunity for 1 full time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our service. We are looking for highly motivated individual who are keen to develop their knowledge and skills working within a Low Secure Service.
Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist the postholders will be expected to:
1. Support our OT’S to Implement the OT's treatment plans by carrying out practical individual and group activities with service users.
2. Use technical/creative skills to assist in the provision of a flexible client-centred programme of therapeutic activities for individuals/groups of clients who experience mental health difficulties and have offending behaviours. This will involve supervising and working with patients on a one:one basis, either in a secure ward environment, the local community or the person’s home.
3. Support our patients in the development of daily living, social, and community skills to promote independent and autonomous lives.
4. Work within the guidelines of this low secure forensic service and therapeutic progress, advocating for meaningful occupation as a human right.
5. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the overall occupational therapy service within the forensic setting.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday (09:00-17:00)
