About the role
We are seeking volunteers to support our Hospice In Your Home team by visiting patients in their own homes in the Atherton, Tyldesley, and Leigh areas. Currently, there is also a high demand for chaperones for our male patients.
As a volunteer, you will provide breaks for carers, companionship, and practical and emotional support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at home.
We are looking for caring, empathetic, and compassionate individuals who respect confidentiality and dignity and are excellent listeners. The ability to travel independently is required.
Full training will be provided, along with regular support meetings with the Hospice in Your Home team.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week, with days and times arranged according to need. Visits should take place during office hours.
This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a minimum age of 18.
