About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Kitchen Installer
to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and commissioning commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants, catering facilities, and hospitality businesses.
Experience in
plumbing, gas fitting, and/or electrical work
will be highly beneficial, as many installations require specialist connections and compliance with strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, assemble, and test commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, ventilation systems, and other catering appliances.
* Connect and commission
gas, water, and electrical systems
in line with all industry regulations and safety requirements.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
* Work with project managers and site supervisors to plan and coordinate installations.
* Asset tagging
of all installed equipment for tracking, maintenance, and compliance records.
* Conduct final checks, complete documentation, and
handover the installation to the client
, providing clear instruction on safe operation and routine maintenance.
* Inspect and troubleshoot existing installations, performing adjustments or repairs as required.
* Ensure all work complies with local building codes, health and safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment details, and test results.
* Deliver excellent customer service on-site and address client questions or concerns.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience as a commercial kitchen installer, catering equipment technician, or in a similar trade role.
* Plumbing, gas fitting, or electrical trade qualifications or experience
are highly desirable.
* Strong technical knowledge of commercial catering equipment and utility connections.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation instructions.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Physical fitness to handle lifting and installation of heavy equipment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Valid driver's license (and willingness to travel to client sites).
Desirable Certifications (Not Essential)
* Gas Safe registration or equivalent (for gas-related installations).
* Electrical safety or wiring certifications.
* Health and safety certifications (e.g., CSCS card or equivalent).
