Overview
Great Barr Medical Centre is looking for a part-time receptionist for 20 hours a week to join the practice team. The receptionist is the first point of contact for patients, either face to face at reception or via the telephone, handling enquiries and providing a receptionist service and administrative support for appointment management and records maintenance.
The centre uses SystmOne and can consider applicants with other IT experience (such as EMIS). Training can be provided for those new to the system or to a clinical environment.
Responsibilities
* Be the first point of contact for patients, delivering a friendly, professional service in a busy environment.
* Manage appointments and maintain patient records.
* Handle patient queries in person and over the phone.
* Process repeat prescriptions.
* Support the wider clinical and administrative team with daily operations.
* Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications and Preferences
* Ability to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Experience with GP reception duties is desirable; training will be provided.
* Experience with SystmOne is preferred; experience with other IT systems (e.g., EMIS) also considered.
* Ability to fit in with the ethos and culture of the practice.
