About the Role
YCT is seeking qualified Play Therapists, Arts Therapists, and Child & Adolescent Therapists to provide therapeutic support for children under 11 years.
This role is primarily clinic-based at YCT House in Harlow, working within dedicated, fully resourced play therapy rooms.
You will deliver developmentally appropriate, relational therapy to children presenting with a range of emotional, behavioural, and relational needs, including more complex presentations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide therapeutic interventions to children under 11 using play, creative, and/or talking therapies
* Work in a developmentally attuned and child-centred way
* Maintain appropriate clinical records in line with professional standards
* Contribute to risk assessment and safeguarding processes
* Work collaboratively with parents/carers and wider systems where appropriate
* Attend and contribute to group supervision
* Work in line with YCT policies, procedures, and ethical frameworks

YCT is a well-established, community-based children's mental health charity with over 30 years' experience supporting children, young people, and families.
The service provides early intervention and ongoing therapeutic support, with a strong emphasis on:

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Qualification in Play Therapy, Arts Therapy, or Child & Adolescent Therapy
* Professional registration with BACP, BAPT, PTUK, HCPC, UKCP or equivalent
* Experience of working with children (preferably under 11)
* Enhanced DBS
* Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
* Safeguarding training
* Right to work in the UK
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working with primary-aged children
* Experience of working with neurodivergent children
* Experience of systemic or family-based work
* Experience working within community or school settings
